If this is the whole story and the ding door ditch thing was just some kids running away after ringing a door bell then I think chasing one of the kids down and beating the crap out of him might just qualify as excessive force?

I find it kind of odd that, from what I read, the trooper was at home, not on duty, hunted these kids down with help of another trooper who was on duty.
