I’m looking at getting a pancake style holster with retention for my Sig 365XL. I’m looking at either the DeSantis Mini Slide or the Urban Carry Signature. But.open to any options. Oh and I have a red dot optic.

A quick look indicates the DeSantis is an OWB with thumb break and the Urban Carry is an IWB with integrated LockLeather™ retention clip.
The OWB will be more comfortable, the IWB will be easier to conceal. Both offer retention for Jump, move around, ride a motorcycle, ride in a boat, run, or lean back activites. Neither offers open carry retention to prevent someone grabbing your 365XL off your hip.

Thanks but just clarify here are the two.
I’m looking at passive retention to prevent pistol from easily coming out I always carry very concealed, apex ISW most of the year. OSW is for colder weather and woods

For what it’s worth, I have an Urban Carry lock leather OWB pancake I carry my M&P shield in. I couldn’t be happier. I have other OWB pancakes that don’t use the plastic retention, so the leather has to be pretty stiff to hold shape and retain the gun. The Urban Carry has just soft enough leather that I don’t even really notice I’m wearing it, and the retention clip inside does all the work. The adjustment screw allowed me to set it for a quick easy draw, but I can’t dislodge the gun otherwise.
I have no experience with the DeSantis model you show, but it does look nice, for sure.

I got a crossbreed IWB for my S&W Shield 45
went to the J hooks instead the ones that come with the holster
It stays in place all day on the farm with out any issues
I am a little bit on the larger size so it disapeeres for full consealment

Just remember that you’re not a real gun owner until you have a big box full of holsters. So my advice is to buy them both.

Personally I would Go with the DeSantis over the Urban I have had Several DeSantis over the years for different weapons.

I thought.. who the hell is Urban Carry?
I’m definitely OK with Ron DeSantis being the 48th President of USA.. but not someone named Urban Carry… 
But seriously…
I know nobody wants to spend extra money.. but my recommendation - buy both.
Why? Because nobody will be able to predict what fits you better.
Both, even being pancake style, made from leather, differs.
Different molding and firearm fit, different retention point, different cant.
So it is not apple-to-apple comparison and you cannot decide which one is better… you must decide which one will work for your application. Both may be good and both may be bad… but you won’t find it without using it for few days.
I personally prefer DeSantis pancake holster, having the better fit to the firearm - meaning safer carrying. Urban Carry never worked as expected, looked more like $20 universal holster I already used.
