I think your question has been answered in the comments, next best thing would be to contact a criminal defense attorney.
If you feel that you haven’t found the answer then I am sorry to hear that. Deciding to conceal carry comes with more than “it” might happen in a “church”.
It comes with the knowledge needed to know what is actually happening in the moment and deciding, in that moment, what is the true threat and be prepared to face 12 people who are going to say that you either saved a life or murdered an innocent bystander(s).

I’m going to chime in here with, know what’s in front of your target and what’s behind. If the animal has a raised axe above the head of a victim and I’m directly behind, hollow points or no hollow points, I’m probably not going to shoot until I have a better angle. Reduces my chance of me harming the victim.

What’s uncomfortable about the question, although it’s great, is the good guy has a thought process, bad guy doesn’t and hesitation kills, one way or the other!
