I am surprised the jury only took 30 minutes for a not guilty decision. Hopefully it means this country is sick and tired of crime.

The dead guys father, who by the way never had a relationship with him, was escorted out of the courtroom for his “expletives” filled rant after the verdict came in. That POS figured out quick that he just lost his payday……

Now we need to see Daniel Penny reimbursed for his defense, lost wages, etc. by the DA and all who brought these charges against him. I want to see the losing party in any case brought against another to be responsible for the entirety of their legal expenses and any other losses like lost wages etc. These frivolous cases would hopefully come to an end if the loser had to pay the entirety of both parties when they lose.
Your so right, he never should have been charged. And he saved lives that day. Glad this was a win for the good…

Sure got this one right. Agree with you. They need give the 2 A back to people to protect their self. Offices of the law can serve but can’t protect you from the crime that goes on.
One more thing I want to see: If you’re acquitted of the crime, there can be No civil case brought against the plaintiffs of the case. I’m not sure this thing is over, but it should be.

@Robert1025 , I agree 100%, but unfortunately you can’t sue the DA who filed the charges and actually thank God for that or there would be no aquittles!
I believe he can be sued in civil court for damages. Hopefully BLM can read the room with a new sherrif in town and refrain from going after Penny for compensation, whipping this up into another Floyd style circus and demand restitution for emotional distress.

Where I’m coming from is from a lawfare standpoint. They go after individuals, gun companies (remember they’ve said we don’t care about winning, just bankrupting them with a death by 1,000 cuts). I hear what you’re saying, but if someone gets you into court, ie. This DA, should they be able to bankrupt you and your family, a company or small business? They know full well if they don’t get you behind bars, they still win by putting you in the poorhouse and they themselves can do this again and again and there are absolutely no consequences that apply to them. All I’m saying I guess is there are too many cases going to court, too many people are being financially destroyed in situations were any reasonable person knows nothing wrong was done. We’re here on a USCCA community for this very reason. I believe most of us are members for the very reasons above, most of us need someone to have our backs when we’re right and a corrupt legal system wants to go after us because we support the 2nd Amendment and our Constitution. Just look at how gun owners are treated vs gangbangers. Pull your gun in self defense and the nightmare may have just begun. If you’re a gangbanger, you’re arrested, released on no bail, they return your gun, and let you keep the money you stole, and you skip your court dates, no problem. I’m being a little facetious true, but I’m not exaggerating to much. The guy who Penny kept from hurting others had what, 20 or more priors? Really?

You know that there are those that just want to continue to persecute Daniel Penny for stepping in as a good guy to protect other good citizens from a bad guy that had open warrants, and a multitude of arrests for violence.
A repeat offender that was perpetrated on society deliberately by a socialist government to intentionally torment good citizens to the point of setting up this very scenario to bate a predictable reaction of self defense and then persecuted who did react to a violent repeat offender who should have been off the streets and in an institution for the protection of society and this whole scenario created by this socialist government not doing its job to protect its citizens would not have happened.
This NYC DA failed to do his duty to prevent this repeat offender from terrorizing the citizens.
And, then staged a clown circus trial to punish the Good Samaritan.
Now that deliberately derelict DA should be prosecuted for his malicious prosecution of Daniel Penny.
