Nothing wrong with the patio….. well one piece of trim broke about a year ago, and the stain is starting to break down. (Did that in 2023)

Well,… it’s literally at ground level, and my kids are in their 20s….

So, if they somehow get hurt on that?

My old house had two decks, East and West. I used to switch sides as the sun changed, and if it rained, fuhgedaboudit.

New house has a roof over the deck. Definite purchasing factor. I don’t like being indoors much before sundown, but the skin pays the price.

Mine is a patio, not really a deck. Decks are elevated, this is ground level. Just my opinion I guess? :man_shrugging:

The worst part of it is that it’s in the west side of my house, and the previous owner cut down the 40 year old maple tree that shaded the back (west side) of the house!

It gets hot as hell on the patio in the afternoon,…

When I lit my Treager grill to cook the pork shoulder last night at 4pm,… the internal sensor said it was 110!

I’m gonna give it another year or two before I refinish.

Next time I want to use just an oil. No tint.

Probably gonna burnish it lightly with a torch first, and if I don’t burn the house down it should look awesome for a couple years!
