Does the USCCA have a minimum range qualification for armed church safety teams? or does anyone have a suggestion or recommendation, I’m currently using Christian Warrior Trainings range qual.

Im my opinion every Church Security Officer should pass Federal Air Marshall quals.
I hate when non qualified people shoot in the crowd…

How big is the church? Figure to train within church width and length. training for a large church compared to the little church on the prairie are two different stories.

I appreciate the feedback. I already have a minimum qual for my church team that includes movement laterally and advancing and retreating, it is timed and out to 15 yards which covers more than half the distance of any room in the Church. It also includes shooting two handed, strong handed, and support handed. It’s 11 or 12 different evolutions. I also use the USCCA’s universal target. 9" circle, the 5.5" square, and the vertical rectangle depending on the evolution.
I’m just trying to see what else is out there. It never hurts to add something new, or change it up from time to time.
jerzees I agree with you if your not qualified you definitly don’t need to be handling crowd of panicking people.

Handling a panicking crowd is tough. When you add a firearms to it … it becomes very problematic… if the firearms are in hands of not qualified people… it turns into disaster.
Perhaps Federal Air Marshal qual is too much, but definitely yo have to practice shooting from retention, one handed manipulation and shooting, shooting and moving between people and use partial / hostage targets.

I like Hackathorn’s drills, these are usually created to validate shooter’s competency.
Check this one:
In your case, you can add “hostage target” or movements.
I actually do not agree with his idea of “head shot to stop the threat”… but in your case it will be about the accuracy, not the head.

I Stopped going to all the churches as in Buldings I made up my mind and I was going from Churches to Churches. Two or three on Sunday and some where else for Wednesday nights and then all this church security !! I was at church and . It felt like I was at an instructors , CLASS FOR HOW TO MAKE THE HAIR STAND UP ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD !! No thanks!! Two or more Gathered in the name of the Lord in agreement HE CHRIST IS THEIR . I Love my LORD THE GREAT SPIRIT . We have church at my MOMAs home I said a prayer READ THE WORD FROM MY BIBLE. !!! And Play some gospel songs and sing along . No more being instructed by security that’s just me and mine!! That’s the Best Way to worship the Lord . Be able to set your edc Down and praise the GREAT SPIRIT!! Ps I was going to a church in wf Texas and when I got there my Bike was Loud Riding up and out of the 15 cop cars at Least five cops in uniform were standing on the front steps!! I just idled right on through the parking lot . No Thank ya Love Bobby Jean Twofeathers .

Can’t disagree with you there. Yes, there’ve been some high profile shootings at places of worship, but it’s also fed the hype of “we gotta have church security teams”, essentially a solution looking for a problem, much like cloud connected security cam scams.
Fortunately I attend services where pretty much everyone is armed, kinda like a “BBQ gun convention” on Sundays, we’re all relaxed and none of us have done “Christian Warrior” or air marshal training, not to mention there are several off duty cops, sheriffs and state troopers on hand.
I’ve been fortunate to have trained with Ken Hackathorn and Mas Ayoob, long before the current armed church protection mania, but I don’t think they’d be too excited over it either.
Train up the front entrance ushers for certain on non-lethal and lethal options, as well as how to communicate with police, and train all of the staff and volunteers on emergency evacuation and first aid, but the idea of Church SWAT is annoying and for me anathema to the teachings and history of the Church.
