Children’s Choir Stopped Mid-Performance While Singing National Anthem at US Capitol

This REALLY frosts my bagels. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

What a bunch of horse hockey!
If it was a PRIDE anthem it would have been all over the news and everyone would have received the presidential freedom medal.

I hope that every day Americans are beginning to awaken to the magnitude of evil that has descended on our government. It’s so palpable I can taste it.

So weird. When I first saw the photo I thought maybe the headline was misleading and the children had been stopped because they were singing inside the Capitol building. But the article makes it clear that they had been given permission to sing, and had already sung other patriotic songs before starting the Star-Spangled Banner.

I’m glad some of the representatives are already looking into this. It could be a case of a lone Capitol police officer being a bonehead, but I’d wager someone with some authority (i.e. someone who had been elected) complained to the officer and forced him to stop the children. I would love to know who that person was.

Considered a protest❓ They have a lot of balls. If they want to start a civil war, just ask.

Probably AOC or that Muslim Wench she runs with in “The Squad”.

You know they’re against protests. Just ask Portland.

Could’ve been any one of hundreds of liberals in that place.

Yeah, I imagined AOC when I said that. But I can’t say that she’d recognize the national anthem.

Perhaps not. But maybe one of the many authoritarians in the building got triggered when they got to the land of the free part?

Not directly related, but let’s not forget that our National Anthem’s tune is based on a lewd English drinking song.

Those kids would probably not have been interrupted if they’d have been singing about Anacreon’s promise to entwine the myrtle of Venus with Bacchus’s wine.

If someone says to US Capitol police that performance of US National Anthem offends them, I would expect that person removed and interviewed, not the other way around.
