Let’s assume 12k miles/year, 20 MPG, and $5/gallon for the whole year. It won’t be the whole year or $5, obviously.
That’s $3000/year, $250/month, $58/week, just over $8/day. Really. Not the increase from before the non-war, but total. Find me someone who can’t find $8 day with a cheaper Internet plan, cell plan, less coffee or $4 soft drink at lunch. It just isn’t real money, and if it is, it is time for some REAL changes in your life to not be in this financial position again…ever.

Unfortunately Brad, it the perception for some when they fill their tank. I understand what your saying and I change my habits to accommodate.
I put about 30k miles a year on my vehicles. 16mpg. Im on my 4th vehicle for work in 12 years. Filled my truck at 3.89, loved it…consideringi haven’t seen it below 4.25 in months.
Im just to the point that I need to get to work so I dont look at the price

Last week the price here in north Denver was $4.60 (holiday weekend) suddenly it’s back down to $3.60
The price gouging it absolutely blatant.

That’s surely harder and more expensive.
My numbers are better, despite mediocre mileage, 13k in the cars and 5k on the bikes. I do less of it these days. The difference for me, assuming a whole year of it $5/gal from a normal $3 is only ~$1500, so $120/month, and that’s still dong track days. Not terrible. .

So I am clear what you’re saying. It’s not Trump’s fault for rising gas prices, it’s our fault for not being able to afford more expensive gas. Got it.

Are you taking out loans to pay for gas? Are you unable to drive because you can’t afford to buy gas? If that is true, then, yes, that is your fault for having poor money management skills. Maybe get another job, until you learn simple budgeting.
