I’m going to be traveling to NJ, and am I allowed to conceal carry a firearm that is not owned by me in NJ?
I believe NJ law you can only carry a firearm you own.
IMO, not worth risking it. Carry your personal firearm.
N. J. Ugh! Good luck.
You cannot bring a handgun to New Jersey regardless of anything else. Felony
It doesn’t matter if it’s yours or not. If you take a handgun to NJ that is a felony and they will arrest and charge you for it if they find out, and they will try to find out every chance they get
You must have a license, issued by NJ, to carry there or even bring a handgun there at all
And who “owns” a firearm isn’t really a thing most places. It’s possession and transfers that matter.
What is your state of residence?
2 hours and 26 minutes in and flagged, wow!
I’d stay away from New Jersey until they start abiding by the Constitution.
What he said. NI only recognizes their own state CC License. Don’t even think about it!!!
Dramatic entrance
@Keith240 Welcome to the community!
As bad if not as worse than NY.
The reason people in Manhattan are in such a rotten mood Is because “the light at the end of the tunnel is NJ”
That would be against the law in that state. And your friend would also be in serious trouble.
Read Brian Aitkin’s book, The Blue Tent Sky: How the Left’s War on Guns Cost Me My Son and My Freedom (2014) which details how NJ treats gun owners before you take the risk of bringing any firearm to the Garden State. NJ will prosecute you whether the gun you bring into the state is owned by you or not.
Just a suggestion - Although many on here give good advice, it is in your best interest to learn to go to the official sites of the states you have questions about. Sometimes there are changes in the laws that don’t get much publicity, especially to people outside of that jurisdiction. Always get legal information directly from the appropriate government source. This isn’t about politics, it’s about staying out of jail due to ignorance of the law. Again, just a suggestion!
This-do NOT bring a firearm into NJ. They are widely known as “No Tolerance”. Yo can be perfectly innocent and doing everything “right”. Some clown runs into you, police find a firearm IN Your Car (not even on you) and YOU are a felon. Don’t do it. Look on the USCCA reciprocity map and you’ll see what I mean.
Also remember that they can and do run Fl plates that will tell them if that person has any permits
