When it comes to guns I’m very new. Growing up my parents did not own any guns. Nothing against them just didn’t see the need. I’ve had my CC for almost four years and I ask lots of questions cause knowledge is very important. Having said that I’ve been looking for a good way to carry my gun while in the car. I’ve seen car mounts but not sure which way to go. I normally carry my 43x or p365. Trying to find one that works with either and a trigger guard. Also if anyone has any tips about mounting or attaching it to my car without messing anything up that would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention both have optics so I would need something that works with that too.

Each car has different setup, so there is no One-Fits-All solution.

  1. Do you want handgun on your left or right side? Perhaps front, between legs?
  2. are you willing to mount / screw the hostler / mounting to any plastic parts of the car? (sometimes people don’t like destroying car’s finishes)
  3. how much space do you have between seat - door and / or seat - central console? Is it enough to fit holster / mount / quick release box?

So there are several options:

  • mounting the holster
  • mounting the holder for your holster
  • mounting magnet (no holster, not recommended)
  • mounting foam in door storage compartment
  • installing quick release box

I remember watching this years ago when I still had cable. I think on Pursuit channel

Check your local laws. In most states, if the gun is not on your person, it must be in a console or locked away.

I’ll double check but if I’m correct in NC it doesn’t have to be. Normally I have something like a sticky holster to slide it in and put in the space in front of the gear shift. It’s never moved or slid but in case of an accident I’d like to have it more secured. Also more accessible if ever need to grab it. Hopefully none of those situations happen.

I think Kwick Strike Box would be the best option for you - definitely Compliant with all States Laws.

I don’t use it, but my shooting buddy presented it to me after he installed it in his car - it worked great.

Appreciate it! I checked it out and says gun will fit but might not work with my car. Gonna keep looking before spending that kind of money and it not work with my car. If I knew for sure I would definitely get one.

Friend of mine just stuck it between seat and central console.

It worked great. I’m not sure if he was worried about compatibility list on Kwick Strike website
