Tax free casinos seems like the only thing that Native Americans have going for them. Even on reservations, they have to deal with a crazy amount of federal interference. I have many native friends from a few different nations; some of them stay due to obligation (I don’t know a better word for it), but it seems like those that want something better will move away the first chance they get. In that sense, I don’t think American Indians are ever going to get their lands back, because those who can afford it are mostly disassociated from their tribal governments.
For those of you cheering so-called border protection claims of this, consider, they are looking into you too and you better hope they like what they see. The Patriot Act was a good idea…20 years ago but we still have it. “They” aren’t righty or lefty, they are powerful and wealthy. Welcome to our Orwellian dystopia.
One thing for sure, I’m happy to be a member here and have all this excellent info to take in along with the knowledge and experience of all of you.

Under the DHS SAVER program … a target could be anyone with, “valuable IP”. “Valuable”, is a subjective term.
If you’re not familiar with the program… they put out an annual report. It’s a quite-interesting read, however, the tactics employed in this program have little to do with the Forth Amendment.

Or they do, but will not to you as you are not one of them. I was there recently and experienced that. I pointed in the case and said one and held up one finger. Got a blank stare, then had another come over, and seemed to understand my motions, but could not understand the word? One and uno are not that different. I had the urge to ask “como te dices in Ingles, uno?” I remembered that from 7 years of Spanish I had decades ago. I would have liked to see their reaction to that.

I didn’t think the Patriot act was a good idea 20 years ago. It was obvious once we officially gave the government that power they were never going to give it up.

The majority of Mexican construction workers I worked with in CA were not at all happy with the open boarder situation. They weren’t completely against the competition of more immigrants but wanted people to come in legally. With a little more balanced and inclusive messaging the Republican Party could really draw in a significant portion of the Latino vote. Many of them have a lot of strong conservative family values.

Dave17 my brother he was a my gate and he keeps his horse in my pin and he brought his friend and he was taking about white people and after awhile I said this is America!! And he was shocked when my friend told him I speak more than Spanish and elginsh that word. This language haw haw its getting to where figure out how to speak Spanish . Because they are here . You don’t see very many other native Americans around so I get rusty on some but I get by but we are not being invaded by native Americans we are being invaded by foreigners who don’t want us here. They want our country and they are not even trying to hide this. Stay sharp. And here is a root beer brother and a chili
