Hey all! Now that I have the new Staccatos in hand, I thought I’d ask for input on the best EDC optic setup for each model. Both the CS and the C2 came with tactical height front iron sites which I really like. My typical “go to” on other EDC set ups has been the Holosun EPS Carry optic in green as I like the smaller footprint however I don’t believe this model will co-witness due to the tactical height sites. Also, I am color blind and can’t see a red dot. For this new set up, I would like to be able to co-witness on both the CS and the C2 with the smallest, reliable optic possible. I will need to add a plate as well for mounting and I’m leaning towards the Dawson. Any suggestions or thoughts on the best up out there would be appreciated. Thx!
The best suggestion is to talk to Dawson Precision.
I went through it with my C2.
I tried to do everything by myself, with actually great results, but it took me very long time and 3 different red dots.
I’m not sure if you really would be able to co witness the way you like it, because it is very personal.
If you have new C2 you will have to go with mounting kit designated to particular optic footprint. That’s the easiest way. Is it perfect? Still subjective.
I personally went with C&H Precision plate for Trijicon RMR footprint. This plate is so low profiled that I had to find shortest front sight ever made for Staccato.
But the result is exactly what I wanted. Dot is not co witnessed, front sight is sitting very low, almost on the bottom edge of the optic, so it doesn’t obstruct view through the window but can be easily used when needed.
Regarding optic for Staccato. I strongly recommend RMR, but you have to try which one works best for you. Why RMR? As I mentioned, this is the 3rd optic mounted on my handgun.
First - Delta Point Pro didn’t work with my eyes, but also looked weird with big window.
Second - Holosun, it was actually great, but had issues with electronics and reticle was flickering and changing brightness
Third - RMR Type 2 - the best for my eyes, but also super reliable. Never failed on me, works in every weather conditions. 1 MOA is preferred, unless you won’t be shooting longer than 20 yards distances. This one has been with me for 4 years or so.
I don’t use my C24 for EDC but I did use the Dawson plate for my 507 Comp(green)I like the 7 different reticle options.
My EDC optics I chose the Holosun 407CO, 8moa ring(now discontinued but can be found) and the Osight C.
Thanks for the insight very helpful as always! I ended up speaking with Staccato and they recommended the Holosun HE90T green dot. Along with the Dawson Precision plate for the CS and the C2. I have been very happy with Holosun in the past so hoping this set up will hit the mark as well.

Good choice. Enclosed emitter is always better option than open one. Additionally multi-reticle gives you some advantages to get used to shoot with optic. Big circle is always easier and faster to pickup than small dot.
