I can see how. I tried with XD subcompact that is 1/4" longer than the 365.
Checking out the new Bodyguard II may be worth your time.
Comped.
you are right that $19 is not a huge risk just to test comfort and fit, although the lower review score does give me some pause. Have you personally used any ankle holster that you would actually recommend for daily carry?
Sounds like the holster itself can work, but the gun size is what makes or breaks ankle carry. If the G43 still printed that much, it definitely shows how limited it can be with normal clothing.
I have never found any good reason to ankle carry.
But if I’d ever consider it, the biggest handgun used - will be S&W Bodyguard 2.0 ![]()
The problem with holsters is that you cannot trust others’ recommendations. Holsters are so personal, that you have to buy and try.
Yeah man that is 100% true. A holster is something you really have to try yourself to know if it fits right or not. But I actually lost my job about two months ago, so I can’t afford to spend much right now.
By the way, if anyone here is involved in an agriculture business, I have experience in agricultural work if anyone needs me, please do message me ![]()
…and buy and try, buy and dry, and…
… cry … ? ![]()
Amazon is good with returns… so “buy and try” is convenient there…
Haha fair point “buy and try” works, but I think doing too many returns can sometimes flag the account or create issues, so I would rather narrow things down first.
Good point… however you don’t need to worry about too many returns on your Amazon account. I’m doing a lot of returns, usually because of Amazon drivers laziness and stupidity, and never got any issues.
Got it, thanks for sharing your experience. Maybe it varies case to case, but when I was in the US, one of my friends actually had his account suspended after too many returns, so that is why I was a bit cautious about it.
Bug Bite Holster makes a great ankle holster. Another great one is the Galco Ankle Glove holster.
I have heard ankle holsters can be slower and less comfortable for daily use. In your experience, do these work well for long hours, or are they better as a backup option?
In my opinion - ankle holster should used as primary, only if there is no other option. Otherwise it’s a good backup plan.
Try to imagine yourself in bad situation, when you must draw your firearm within less than 3 seconds (which is very slow). The only moment it’s easy to do so - when you sit in the chair. ![]()
Ankle holster should be a backup gun, and frankly if you’re going for a BUG, you probably shouldn’t have been there in the first place!
The best use for an ankle holster, I have found, is to carry a CAT turnaquint.
Tourniquet is a good option!
I’ve only ever needed one once, but it was a literal life saver at the time!
That scar is about 2” long with an additional 2” surgical scar because they had to open my arm up to retrieve severed tendons….
That’s the inside of my elbow,… the cut severed my bicep and penetrated over 1/16” into the bone of my humerus.
I’ve never seen blood squirt from a wound like that before, and I hope to never see it again.
The makeshift tourniquet I had the supervisor apply hurt like hell, but probably saved my life!
Ankle carry does seem more situational, especially when it comes to draw speed and accessibility under stress. I was mainly considering it for specific scenarios, but yeah as a primary it could be limiting.
I get what you are saying, and yeah ideally avoiding bad situations is always the goal. But I guess the idea of a BUG is more about having an extra layer of preparedness if things do not go as planned. Still, your point about not relying on it as a primary definitely makes sense
