When I first looked at a Bersa catalog, I became curious as to why they offered so many .380s - it turns out that in Argentina - where they’re made - the .380 is the largest handgun caliber a citizen can legally own - anything more powerful could only be produced for the export market. FYI

Quite common in a lot of Latin American countries, along with ‘cannot have military’ calibers. So, stuff like 9x21 is seen in some places as well.

Have never seen a Bersa. 38 Super is popular in Mexico because they can’t own 9mm. Funny, because 38 Super is like 9mm magnum.
