Beretta Model 71---it's not the size of the dog in the fight---it's the size of the fight in the dog

Totally agree @John292 here’s some more information on Mossad. I’m a firm believer in the 22LR I have a few. :us: :us: :us:

Israeli Mossad .22 LRS: The Reliable Pistols of the Mossad

No group of armed professionals ever used a . 22 caliber pistol as effectively as Israeli Mossad operators and Israeli sky marshals. Although the Beretta 70 & Model 71 are no longer being manufactured, you can still find these outstanding pistols on the used gun market.

Why would one look for Beretta 70 on the used gun market, when brand new Beretta Bobcat is aailable in 22lr or 25acp.

Pardon for offtopic. but why are there no micro-compacts/pockets in HK 4.6x30mm caliber?

Short answer, bottleneck cartridges work better in longer barrels. All the extra powder capacity is wasted as muzzle blast and isn’t used to propel the bullet.

One thing to remember, the main job for this gun was covert assassinations NOT self defense. Big difference.

They do mention a use by air marshal in the story

Yep, I just said the “main” job was not SD. Hey it’s a great gun! I’ve seen some for sale lately and have been seriously tempted. And I’m not agains using .22LR as an SD round if that’s all you can handle.

It’s all about training and working with the capabilities and limitations of the gun/shooter.
