The 2nd Amendment has to do with the individual right of each American citizen to protect themselves and their family and property and state and country individually or in a local, state, or federal militia, against all enemies, foreign or domestic. That IS the interpretation. The founders knew that advances in weapons technology were being made even then and that the citizenry certainly has the right to weapons of advanced technology to maintain readiness for our security.
