Another thought: could this lead to a system of “private prosecution”, similar to the UK? That might be fun.
And I guess with no prosecution for trespass, there go private property rights.

Of course not, because when they stop characterizing something as a crime, by extension those incidents aren’t counted as crimes.
Want to lower the crime rate to zero? Decriminalize everything.

Decades ago I ready an article on increasing industrial output.
It was QC oriented and started off with tongue in cheek “To increase the level of acceptable product, reduce your standards of acceptability.”
Seems like that’s what’s happening here. If we don’t prosecute this we won’t have have our court backlog.
Maybe this fits in with defunding the police.
Our crime stats will improve.
Figures don’t lie, but liars figure.
I worry about a nation without the rule of law.

They take being a sh-tty city literally, this is not prosecuted now?

Worse yet, they seem to imply that these are crimes that minorities do. That’s not racist, right?

They are not crimes when minorities do them.
I think this nonsense will bring in alternative system of justice, my money is on Sharia courts. Clear guidelines, enforceable, equal for all regardless of skin color - what’s not to like here?

They have those in the UK where communities are majority Muslim, and their courts have allowed them, though they are supposed to be used only for “domestic” issues.
I don’t know how things are in the UK with respect to dealing drugs, shoplifting and public defecation. Something tells me, Sharia courts in Baltimore would have wider reach than just “domestic” issues. Or in DC for that matter

San Francisco changed their laws a few years ago to allow defecating and urinating in public. About a year ago they had to create a new crew to go around and clean it up.

Well I guess I won’t be going to Baltimore or DC anytime soon.
They won’t prosecute low-level drug distributors, but God help you if they catch you carrying your constitutionally protected firearm.
