I have a lot of experience with Fiskars mauls, splitting mauls and axes. Quite happy with them. I broke a maul after years of abuse. The maul was out of stock so they sent a check for the retail price after sending a photo. For wood splitting they design their splittin axe head heavy, very effective high speed technique. Bought a small camp axe from them, very pleased.
Funny, next thread had my post and pic of the maul. . I found their splitting axe to be my favorite processing tool after the Honda GX 😉 with elm and swamp maple and stumps, and could split ash and straight grain oak faster and easier than the gas splitter.
