At what point do YOU become LAWLESS

In this commentary video, the speaker talks about in a worst case scenario event - trying to remain being the good guy.

I think it reminds us of trying to remain civilized and ethical and not be or join up with “the bad”, per se. I don’t think it’ll ever comer to that, but if a major disaster were to ever occur, God Forbid, I try to take stock in still trying to do the right thing. Guess it almost goes without saying.

I have a whole garage stocked with dehydrated water.

I’m going to be honest. I am going to be as honest and ethical as I can be. But as everything in life does, that has limits.

At the risk of going way off topic. Apologies.

Regardless, I think there is value in being prepared. A bad day, a bad week, and if, just what if, a bad mass event.

If only I can become more motivated, I think I’d enjoy the work if preparation, I imagine it’s getting started, that’s the hardest for me.

In this vid, these young fellas first struck me as very funny, very talented actors, but then they had some theories and formulas on why many of us are not prepared, and mostly that we can be wrongly prepared. The title of their video is not what it’s really about, they may surprise you.

Thinking: planning, food, water, shelter.

Please enjoy:

This is an excellent video. Thanks for posting it. I suspect, however, that it will be lost on those whose focus is on guns, ammo and tacti-cool gear.

I moved to Colorado from New Jersey after 9/11 with the realization that survival requires leaving areas that are ill-suited to weathering bad events – economic collapse, terror attacks, natural disaster, government over-reach, etc, So, top of my prepper list is “leave urban areas” and set up in a more survivable environment.

Most here understand this, but…

I hear ya Mark697. Interesting how they are using critical thinking and planning.

I can only imagine the amount of hard work it takes. However, certainly one can say, one’s never without goals. I wish I was younger and my feet — didn’t ache like when I was a healthier youg’n. Still, I know I can make some progress if I put my mind to it.

I recently saw another vid along the same lines, I thought well done. It was by Canadian Prepper who interviewed a USA EMP preparation leader. If you’ve not seen it yet, I think you’ll like it.

As they point out, if no fatal mass catastrophe, at least helps us when there is a mini local one, and we can hand down to our children, our preps.

Interesting video. Thanks, again, for posting it.

I agree with the presenter that key to survival in a crises situation is to not be where there a bunch of people who are desperate for food/resources. Rural America has lots of areas that fill that bill.

But, in my opinion, you do not have to have the resources to build and maintain two houses – one in the city and one in the country. You can choose to live and make a living from a country residence if your business/employment allows for remote operation.

But, remote living requires some planning and adjustments. For example, I learned (the hard way) that there is little to no communications infrastructure even a short distance from a rural town. Thank God for Elon Musk’s StarLink system that brings higher speed internet services to remote locations. Water collection and storage in dry areas is also challenging. Solar panels keep getting cheaper, so electric power is, surprisingly, not a limitation on setting up a rural house. My neighbors are all 100% off grid with combinations of solar panels, wind turbines and geothermal pre-heating of boiler circuits.

The magnesium pre-fab panels discussed in the video were new to me. My wife was the ED for the local Habitat for Humanity, and she built low-income houses using concrete filled foam blocks. Easy/Quick for unskilled labor to assemble. Crazy high insulating value.

That was/is an interesting video.

The main reason I have as many firearms as I do, is because I do not trade/sell my old firearms. I just do not trust enough that the next person will not use it criminally. Thus involving me peripherally. So I keep them. That’s why I have so many .45 caliber pistols. I only use .45 I don’t own anything other than a .22 and I own that because I used it to train my wife and my daughter. I have multiple rifles because I haven’t found that one caliber that does everything I need it for. So, multiple calibers.

But I do follow alot of there suggestions, as I do prep for a minimum of 1 year. But talking specifics online I am scared to do because I worry about the specificity making someone consider me as a target. So I am trying/tried to find a group that does what I do. Because I know I am not enough alone. I need more eyes and bodies.

I hope not too, but it seems there is something sinister going on. A feeling I can’t shake.

At NO point will I EVER become lawless. BUT, if I ever feel truly threatened personally or I feel my loved ones are in peril my response will be historic and based on doing what is right…

There’s quit a big difference between Knowingly Breaking a law that is in place like Rob a bank or Aggravatedly Assaulting someone and Ex Post Facto. We talk about that from time to time. What happens when the AR Platform is made illegal on a Federal level. I legally own some now, not a crime to having in my condo. BUT Tomorrow, am I a felon? Or does Ex Post Fact matter?

Since congress makes the laws what is an executive directive is it a law? And what does the constitution say about that? Not sure my self.

I will become lawless when it becomes legal. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.:sunglasses:

I think I’m going to follow the natural law of survival. Therefore, I will not become lawless. At least by my standards.
