Left-side driving goes back to the Middle Ages - knights rode on the left side of a road to free-up their right arms for weapons-use, and it’s survived over time. After our revolution, a British fleet was sent to Australia to set up a penal colony, where criminals of all types were sent to serve out their sentences as servants and laborers, along with their families - Ned Kelly’s father was sent there. The time period was Australia’s version of our “Wild West”, and just as nasty-ass.

I have the answer! We’re dealing with Klingon “moles”, with a total lack of empathy for the citizens that put them in power - “rule” versus “govern”, once again exposed.
