Maybe it’s just the way it worded, but it sure makes it look like it’s more about the Gubment getting theirs than it is about criminals with guns.
I guess it is more about steeling than guns. Guns sensationalizes it more. The $ worth probably makes it a felon. But a guess.
I agree with you,it is all about the moneythat is why I build all my weapons with 80% from the ground up,hate to pay the Government any thing to just own a weapon!
Gun-related offenses add 3 years minimum if I’m not mistaken.
“Defrauding the U.S.” and theft probably easier to prove in court than failure to follow the prevailing gun laws and may have a longer sentence as well. Also avoids any 2A affirmative defense notions.
