Another new shooter

A little back story. My daughter never really showed interest in shooting. She more of a scholar and jock. On fridays she teaches art to 5th graders ( daughter is 14), volunteers at the local library and roller rink. Her passion is hockey where she plays right wing, but never showed much interest in shooting…until last night. She said she wanted to learn how to shoot.

After breakfast i grabbed the win 9422 and a box of ammo and we went to the property. She loved it.

That wasnt good enough. She loved shooting so we did a quick turn and burn to the house to rearm. Grabbed the walther M4 clone and exploding targets.

Another big smile.

She asked about my carry gun. She just found out i carry about a month ago. Ive only been carrying for 25 years… i always have a box of ball ammo handy and grabbed the box out of the glove box.

Taught her how a Glock works and loaded up 2 mags for my G43

She wasnt to keen on it but it was her first day ever shooting a gun. She shoots crossbow so she had that going for her.

Overall, a great day. Another gun nut is born. She said she understands now why i shoot so much

More to come. She even said that i released a shooting monster. She shot about 300 rds of 22lr. Wanted more but i called it a day. The 9422 my brother left to her after he died. She likes it but she really like the M4 clone.

Told my wife, its gonna get expensive…

What’s the old NRA shirt say? You can’t beat a woman that shoots?

Well done, dad!

OUTSTANDING!!! Nothing like introducing a new shooter to what will certainly become an addictive endeavor. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Today i was working more on her breathing and teaching her that if she gets tired to rest. She even noticed that when she was tired, the barrel was all over the place.

Showed her different stances and she needs to find out what works for her.

When i shoot a deer the kid grabs a knife to start gutting it. Does that count?

I dont fish so not sure of her ability on that

My wife was a taxidermist in AK and is teaching her alot.

Isn’t it such a warm feeling when they learn about shooting and embrace it with joy?
That is the way I felt when my daughter started shooting!
