As someone who has experienced an accidental discharge of my carry weapon, in an outdoor public setting while showing it to someone in a light rain around a campfire, safety is always on my mind as it was in that instance. It was “muzzle discipline” that avoided any damage, injury or catastrophe - keeping the weapon pointed in a safe direction. As he said, “S**t happens!”
I can’t tell you how in awe of this man I am. Making a video while still suffering the embarrassing, painful effects of this horrible accident in order to be of service to others by making of himself an example … in spite of the ridicule and “Monday morning quarterbacking” by some whose ignorance improves their chances of suffering a similar fate … is a profile in courage and selflessness worthy of admiration.
By impressing upon the viewer his level of experienced professionalism and familiarity with his firearm, he has shown us that this can happen to anyone … so never get overconfident! By his reference to miracles, he realizes now his current existence is owed to a Higher Power and is using that gift properly to caution others.

I completely agree. Back in the day, my Dad used to tell me “familiraty breeds contempt.” I was too young to understand then, but after many years, I did! Since then, I’ve seen in myself, and others who have gotten really good at what they do, pull some bone-head moves. I guess the moral of the story is, that no matter how good or how smart you think you are, there is NO room for AROGANCE or COMPLACENCY!
