If you don’t have a slug shooting airgun, you should go buy one just to compete in this event! The courses will be shooting steel from 100-450 yards. This event will show how powerful and accurate some of these slugging airguns are.
450 yards with an air gun? Damn It! Makes me look really bad when I brag about hitting an 8 1/2x11 piece of paper at 150 yrd with my .270.
I’ve seen a video of a hog hunt, guy was shooting a .50cal air rifle at a 150-200 pound hog. In slow motion you can see the slug going down range, hitting the pig perfectly behind the shoulder, then ricocheting off the hillside behind the pig!!!
Just to be clear: are you saying the slug went through the hog and hit the hill? Or did it bounce off the hog and then hit the hill?
To be honest, I didn’t know there was such a thing as a .50 cal air rifle. How many people does it take to crank up the PSI needed to launch that slug through a hog?
My .25 caliber Hatsan runs on 4000 psi compressed air, I have what basically looks like a bicycle pump to charge it (what a workout!). But they do make electric compressors, and you can also carry a scuba tank with you on the hunt to recharge the gun.
