Yeah, but did you witness the note being handed to the president during the hosting of the Italian PM? My wife and I recognized it wasn’t good news, immediately! You realize if it was good news they would have waited, you don’t disturb the President with a note or a whisper unless SHTF!

Sheriff just said the shooter was a son of one his deputies and part of the youth Sheriff advisory board.

For sure. We could stop this crap cold if we just got out collective heads out of our butts as a country and educated our kids right. Sorry kids, violence is everywhere, all over the world. It’s not just here. At any given moment, someone somewhere is doing bad things to innocent people. We need to show our kids mass shootings, stabbings, truck assaults, bombings, etc that are happening everywhere in the world, then show them we have something different. We have the constitution, and the guaranteed right to defend ourselves. We have arms, and they’re the great equalizer. We need to eliminate all gun free zones, and have armed self defense classes in schools for kids. We need to wake the phuck up as a country and admit that laws don’t stop crime. Dead criminals stops crime. That’s it.
We could end this, but too many people don’t actually want to. They either live in a fantasy land of ferries and unicorns where ferry dust will protect their kids, or they actively want a disarmed, scared populace. Either way, it’s not what our founders wanted, and they were wise men of the world who had seen s#it and knew what was really up.
Times haven’t changed in 250 years, and neither have people. The founders were dead on.

It was a discontinued service gun. Department switched to something else and they give their personnel a choice to purchase the old model. Basically a retired service gun that became her personal gun.

Tough call on that one. I lock up mine but my daughter is 14 and when her friends come over…
This guy was 20. Was he even living at home? Was there signs he was crazy? Did mom train him and feel comfortable with guns accessible?
Hard to say on conditions at home.
Hell, i know the combos for all my dads safes in case something happens to him. As a cop, maybe she did the same. Nowadays, her job isnt the safest.

So some information I have seen on this is that, 1, he was old enough to have his own handgun, 2, he had participated in some sort of youth program with her department, leading the Sheriff to comment that “he’s not surprised he had access to firearms”.
With that alone I would not be surprised if she had absolute trust in him having access.
What I’m not certain about is the allegations that he had a history of mental health issues. If true, and depending on what issues, that could change my opinion on whether it was reasonable to trust him with access.
But you make a good point that I have heard nothing yet about what him having access means. Was the gun in a safe, but he knew how to access it anyway?
I really don’t want to place blame with her before knowing all the details.

Everyone knows that a good guy with a gun probably could have stopped this as soon as the shotgun came out in view but its like TDS, no matter what, the left will fight against 2A.
Hell, im sure the liberals would agree that armed citizens are needed but they wont admit it.

Why have signs? Everyone knows school campuses are usually gun free. Easy opportunity and most can figure out response time.
Arming teachers, those that want to be, could slow alot of this crap down.
