A shooting case from FL

This is what happened in February: Miramar police: Fatal shooting at Walgreens follows argument with man over ‘looking too hard’ at his girlfriend

Took till April to drop the charges: Charges dropped against man in Miramar Walgreens fatal shooting

From February to April the guy was behind bars without bail. Why? He ran from the place of shooting, let others call 911 on him.

Taylor said he ran off after the shooting because he was being shot at and dropped his phone, unable to call police.

I imagine the evidence favored him.

Broward County… Not exactly a 2A friendly place. They would have made an example of him if they could.

The mistake he made was leaving the scene.

I get the dynamic of the situation was overwhelming, adrenalin, shots fired, high stress…We have to train our brains to do what we need to do before and after defending ourselves so we don’t spend time behind bars.

Glad he is out and charges were dropped. Now he has a long road to recovery, to recover his dignity, to recover his freedom, to recover his weapon…

I am not sure it was safe to stay indoors, but looks like he fled a bit too far… He lost the race to 911, that I think is the problem, not necessarily removing himself from the place of danger.
