In red neck terms “Keer er btween the ditches”.
“May you live in interesting times.” - This is an ancient Chinese saying, but it’s actually a polite, veiled CURSE, not a compliment or blessing - witness the voting shenanigans in AZ, and the high-tech, FTX scam involving a laundry-list of the rich and famous, for example.
“You ain’t that f’ing special!”

I’m reading the book now. The author is doing a good job of making details readable and story-like. Biographies are hard to write. I’m learning a lot about Vincent!! Thanks for the recommendation!
You know that’s why lines were originally put on roads. Drivers would meander on whichever side of the road they wanted. The problem came to curves where you couldn’t see too far ahead. Lots of head on accidents. Lines reminded ppl to stay on their side of the road

De nada,
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for the rest of his life.
He’ll eat fish.
For the rest of his life.
Fish.
Every day. Every meal.
Fish.
Breakfast? Fish.
Lunch? Fish!
Dinner? FISH!
Midnight snack? Birthday cake? Christmas pudding? FISH, FISH, FISH!!!
Jesus. It sounds like a nice thing to do for someone, but it ends up being a lifetime of torturous monotony.
And this is why I don’t fish.
