see most people think we are human beings who host gut microbes… actually the gut microbes outnumber our human cells, so we’re basically a really fancy house the microbes built to keep themselves warm and fed :laughing:

and apparently occasionally drunk :joy:

It’s my understanding that a popular philosophy suggests that one reason red meat is unhealthy is that it takes so many days to digest that it ferments and releases some toxins into the body.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to prepare my Ribeye.

It is interesting that this was part of a case on the TV show “The Good Doctor” that was aired this week. The patient had a benign tumor that was blocking part of the digestive system and the carbs were fermenting in his belly.
