Trying out the new threads at Lake Mead with wife and Granddaughter. My girls are outdoorsy for sure!
Just a little light off road trip. °lllll°

Lovely family and a picturesque backdrop!

The new tires look good on the rig, howd’d you like them?

So far they are worthy of their reviews. The ride with the bigger and more aggressive thread tires is actually smoother than the factory LT tires I had before, especially on rough roads and bad pavement. Mileage has not changed and having gone bigger both in width and size I have experienced no rubbing or any change in maneuverability.

Hopefully this weekend I will go for a more aggressive trail and see what we gained. I’m also strongly considering a 2” Leveling Kit to get rid of the factory “rake” and gain a little more clearance up front. We’ll see.

The road noise was one of the final selling points for me. Like you, my experience has been that they were better (both quieter and a smoother ride) than the LT tires that were on it when I purchased it.

I’m debating on what, if anything, I want to do suspension-wise. The Trailhawks have an airbag leveling & ride-height adjustable setup. From the research I’ve done, which isn’t much yet, there does not seem to be a viable “upgrade” to this. Rather, it’s either leave it factory-ish or replace it with a static setup.

Anywho, I’m glad your first impressions were positive and hope that they work out for you on your other trails!

Pretty pup. Do you let her drive, so you can take pix?
Had a Red Heeler once that wanted to be in the drivers seat… Woulda let her, but she was a bit irresponsible behind the wheel, and that was SOBER.

Yeah I think that was the biggest surprise, how quiet they are! The last Jeep I owned with oversized BFG (prior generation) was so loud that having a cell phone conversation while driving was absolutely impossible, and my Rubicon with MT tires would just about rattle your teeth off. These are an absolute pleasure to drive on.

Thanks! Worked real hard at training her to stay in the back seat, then mom allowed her on her lap ONCE and now she is convinced she belongs on MY lap when I’m driving.

And, like all Heelers a “no” means no right now, but they’ll try again in 5 minutes and then again in 10 minutes, and again in 12 minutes until YOU give up

They are NOT dogs for the casual dog owner because they’ll just take over your house and boss you around all day. She’s our second Heeler, I guess we didn’t learn the lesson…
