When a government - specifically a mayor - will not prosecute criminals and the means for self-defense is strictly limited, the only option left is to ask the criminal element - nicely - “Please do not kill us.” Thank you. Crazier things have happened. I’d say the odds are about even.

So sad. Another reason not to live in Chicago. Realistically, individuals are unlikely to have any influence over what city officials do, so the only alternatives are: (1) leave or (2) learn to live with the insanity.

My co workers today were required to get a particular training class for their jobs. All expenses paid by the company. The next class was in Chicago. Both refused, and will wait for a different class, just because they didn’t want to risk getting shot!! That was, literally, the discussion.
Nice job, Chicago!! You’ve ensured that NO one with a right mind will go to your God forsaken hell hole. I used to love going to Chicago on business. I’m in the printing industry, and for years Chicago was THE place to go for the trade shows and the industry in general. The big international printing trade show left there about 6 years ago and has never been back.

Back in the 60"s the city of shotcago, under “Da Boss”, Richard J. Daley, the city paid gangs to be nice. Gangs received thousands of dollars a month to play nice, they didn’t. The black p stone nation, never made so much money and were able to expand their gang empire dramatically, later becoming the el rukn gang. The only thing that will work is arrests and prosecutions. When are the communist/democrats going to stop pandering for votes and putting citizens at risk and admit the problem. Also, when are the useful idiots going to wake up and stop voting for the politicians that are putting them in danger and destroying their cities?

I like the comment made by another person here said. He knows how to stop the crime and murders in just a few days. Give the snipers from the military their guns back along with a cameraman. Whenever they see a crime happening, break into the programming and show the thug getting shot.

I have a better suggestion. Rollback the gun restrictions for private citizens and put a bounty on armed criminals. IE you use a gun while committing a crime, “we” have the right to shoot you down.
